Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Owltaps (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile applications we publish on Google Play and the Apple App Store (each, an “App”, and together, our “Apps”). It applies to all of our Apps unless a specific App presents its own separate policy.

Please note: our Apps span different categories, and not every feature or data practice described below applies to every App. A given App only collects or uses the data that is necessary for its own features. Where we say “some of our Apps”, it means the practice applies only to those Apps that offer that feature.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide.

• Account information (some of our Apps). If an App offers accounts or sign-in, we may collect the information you provide to create and manage your account, such as your email address, a display name, and a password (passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider). Many of our Apps have no accounts and collect none of this.
• Content you submit (some of our Apps). If an App lets you use the camera, microphone, or select photos, the resulting media is processed only to provide that feature, and only with the permission you grant on your device. We do not access your camera, microphone, or photo library without your action.

Information collected automatically.

• Advertising identifier and advertising data. Apps that show ads use Google AdMob, which may process your device advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA) and related data to show ads and, where you consent, to personalize and measure them.
• Purchase and subscription status. If you buy a subscription or in-app product, an anonymous, app-generated identifier is associated with your purchase so we can unlock paid features. Purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple; we never receive your payment card details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat.
• Usage and diagnostic data (some of our Apps). Some Apps use analytics and crash-reporting tools (such as Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) to understand feature usage and to detect and fix crashes. This may include app events, device model, operating system, app version, and crash logs.
• Device and technical information. Such as device model, operating system version, language, and coarse (non-precise) region inferred from IP address, used by our advertising and infrastructure providers to deliver content and ads and to prevent fraud.
• App content data. Some Apps download their catalog, sounds, or images from Google Firebase. This is content delivered to you and does not involve collecting personal data about you.

We do not collect your precise (GPS) location, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. How we use information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Apps and their features.
• To create and manage your account, where an App offers one.
• To deliver and, subject to your consent, personalize and measure advertising.
• To process and validate purchases and unlock paid features.
• To analyze usage and diagnose crashes so we can improve the Apps.
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.

3. Advertising and your choices

Apps that show ads use Google AdMob. Depending on your region and consent, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

• EEA, UK, and Switzerland: before ads are served, we present a consent request using Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). You may grant or decline consent and change your choice later.
• Android: you can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in Settings → Google → Ads.
• iOS: apps that use the advertising identifier request permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency. You can manage this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

4. Third-party services

Depending on the App, we rely on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Google Play Services & Google AdMob — policies.google.com/privacy
• Google Firebase (content delivery, and — in some Apps — Analytics & Crashlytics) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• RevenueCat (subscription management) — revenuecat.com/privacy
• Apple (App Store purchases, on iOS) — apple.com/legal/privacy

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process data on these legal bases: your consent (for personalized advertising and, where applicable, analytics); the performance of a contract (to provide accounts and purchased features); and our legitimate interests (to operate the Apps, deliver content, serve non-personalized ads, and prevent fraud).

6. Your rights and account/data deletion

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

If you use one of our Apps that has an account, you can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at the address in Section 9. For Apps without accounts, you can exercise device-level controls (Advertising ID / IDFA reset, consent withdrawal) as described above.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. Account data is retained until you delete your account. Advertising, analytics, and diagnostic identifiers are retained according to the policies of the third-party providers listed in Section 4.

8. Children’s privacy, security, and international transfers

Our Apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We and our providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Because our providers operate globally, information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of an App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
